Rediscover the Ancient Faith
Greek Orthodox Christianity is one of the oldest branches of Christianity, tracing its roots back to the apostles and the early Christian communities of the Eastern Mediterranean. Central to Greek Orthodoxy is the belief in the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It emphasizes the importance of tradition, liturgy, and the sacraments, especially the Divine Liturgy, which is the central act of worship. Icons, or sacred images, play a significant role in worship and personal devotion. Greek Orthodoxy values community, spiritual discipline, and the pursuit of holiness through a deep, mystical connection with God.
The Greek Orthodox Parish of the Sunshine Coast QLD, falls under the spiritual care of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and His Eminence, Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

Divine Liturgy
The Divine Liturgy in a Greek Orthodox church serves to unite the congregation in worship, celebrate the Eucharist, and foster a deep, communal connection with God through sacred rituals and prayers.
Divine Liturgy is celebrated in our community at St Mark's Anglican Church located at 7/17 Main Street Buderim, QLD 4556 every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month starting at 11:30am and finishing by 1pm.
Coffee, tea and snacks are offered afterwards, donations welcome.
Sacraments & Services
The main sacraments of the Orthodox Church are Baptism, Chrismation, Eucharist, Confession, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Anointing of the Sick, each serving as a vital means of grace and spiritual growth.

St Mark's Anglican Church, Buderim
All Parish services are held in St Mark's Anglican Church in Buderim. The church is air-conditioned and had a children's play area at the rear of the church.
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God."
Sunday School is vital in developing a child’s knowledge and love for God. Lessons are held at every Greek Orthodox parish across Australia. They offer a friendly and nurturing environment in which children can begin to appreciate the beauty of their Orthodox Christian Faith and the life in Christ.
In their respective classes, students play a range of activities organised by their teachers, learn to sing Christian songs and hymns, and then participate in a lesson which covers various aspects of our Orthodox Christian Faith.
When we bring our children regularly to Sunday School, we provide them not only with the gift of knowledge that has lifelong value and significance, but more importantly, they begin a personal relationship with Christ that will guide them through the rest of their lives.
The greatest gift and the most precious inheritance we can give to our children is our Orthodox Christian Faith. Jesus makes it clear that He wants children to come to know Him, and that He considers it a grave offence for an adult to hinder this process.
Classes are held every time we have Divine Liturgy and is intended for children of primary school age. For information on classes, please send us an enquiry using the links on this page or feel free to come along one Sunday morning.
